Hemos vuelto a descubrir Marrakech, ciudad de las mil y una noches, con sus recónditos y mágicos escondites, sus misteriosos y sinuosos caminos dentro de la Medina, los ruidos de agua y fuentes y el olor a especias. El Hotel de la Mamounia, re decorado hace unos años por Jacques García sigue siendo según las palabras de Sir Winston Churchill, en aquel entonces: “el mejor hotel del mundo”. Sus jardines parecen salir de un cuento irreal. Maravilloso el buffet al borde de la piscina.
We have revisited Marrakech, city of a thousand nights, with its magic and hidden paths, its mysterious and winding alleys within the Medina, sounds of water and fountains together with smells of spices. The Mamounia Hotel, re designed a few years ago by Jacques Garcia, is still, as Sir Winston Churchill quoted in those days: “The best hotel in the world”. The gardens seem to pop out from a fairy tale story. The amazing buffet by the pool is certainly a must.

Si queda tiempo para compras, y el regateo hay que visitar el Quartier Mellah, zoco judío, una caja de sorpresas. Dentro del Zoco, las joyas de Al Kounouz, a precios muy razonables, y para djelabas y camisas de algodón el Fil d’Or y Beldi.
And to keep up with the best food in town, the new restaurants: No-Mad, Café des Épices and le Jardin, within the busy and magical Medina, the Foundouk or even the restaurant at the Maison Arabe Riad. If there is any time left for shopping and bargain do wonder into the Quartier Mellah, the Jewish quarter, quite unexpected and interesting. Within the big Souk you can find lovely and affordable jewels at Al Kounouz, and for djellabas and cotton tunics the best are le Fil d’Or and Beldi.
